Durham, N.C. (November 4, 2024) — Democracy North Carolina and partners will host virtual press conferences on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 9:30 AM, 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Co-Executive Directors Cheryl Carter and Adrienne Kelly, alongside North Carolina for the People, North Carolina Asian Americans Together, Southern Coalition for Social Justice, ACLU of North Carolina, Common Cause North Carolina, El Pueblo, and Forward Justice, will be available to answer media inquiries related to voter turnout, absentee ballot guidance, and voter suppression/intimidation.
The nonpartisan voter protection hotline (888-OUR-VOTE), in partnership with Democracy NC, Southern Coalition for Social Justice, and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, received more than 3,700 calls in the weeks leading up to the election, as Early Voting turnout eclipsed that of the 2020 election.

5:00PM – Cheryl Carter, Co-Executive Director of Democracy NC, will provide an overview of what we can expect in the final rush of Election Day voting
